New Webinar Available on Demand: Essential Patient Navigation Tools and Tips for All Health Care Settings
Late last month, the HealthWell Foundation held the second in its three-part Financial Toxicity & Patient Navigation: A Solutions-Focused Webinar Series. HealthWell created the webinar series to showcase the programs, services, solutions, and partnerships that help patients navigate an increasingly complex health care environment with clarity and support.
“Essential Patient Navigation Tools and Tips for All Health Care Settings” was an enlightening discussion on the history, role, and definition of patient navigation and its impact across a variety of health care settings. More than 700 people attended the session live on July 29, and the webinar is now available for on-demand replay.
Moderated by Michael Heimall, FACHE, President & CEO, HealthWell Foundation, the webinar featured a group of expert panelists from across the health care ecosystem:

- Dan Sherman, MA, LPC, Founder and President, NaVectis Group
- Melissa Paige, BAA, President, National Association of Medication Access & Patient Advocacy
- Tori Watkins, PharmD, BCACP, CPP, Pharmacist-in-Charge, Sona Pharmacy + Clinic
“The webinar provides insight on how to apply patient and financial navigation strategies to address common barriers to care,” said Heimall. “The panelists discussed how to optimize insurance to reduce financial distress and improve access to care, and how to use free and low-cost tools to support navigation across care settings.”
The webinar concluded with a lively Q&A session, with questions submitted by webinar attendees. A list of resources for patient navigators, health care providers, pharmacists, and patients was also provided.
In addition to providing insights and actionable information, the webinar offered continuing medical education (CME) and continuing education (CE) credits to physicians, nurses, pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and social workers.
