Cheryl's Story
In the Fall of 2022, I was having difficulty breathing and was constantly out of breath whenever I exerted myself. Even the simple task of dusting caused me to have to sit down and rest. After a few weeks of not feeling any better, I made an appointment with my pulmonologist. When the nurse took my vitals, my oxygen levels were extremely low. The doctor said my oxygen saturation level was “not consistent with life.”
The nurse promptly put me in a wheelchair and I was rolled across the parking lot to the emergency room of the hospital right next door. Needless to say, I was admitted.
After all the diagnostic tests were completed, my cardiologist diagnosed me with Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension (PAH). He prescribed a medication that was very successful in the management of PAH. I have been on an oxygen concentrator for three years, but because of the medication along with the concentrator I have been doing well.
None of this would be possible without the precious grants I have received from the HealthWell Foundation that cover the cost of my medication. I could not afford this medication without this assistance.
I’m so very thankful to the HealthWell Foundation and their commitment to helping patients achieve the assistance needed to better their health.
And I’m so very grateful for this incredible blessing.
Thank you,
Cheryl J.
