HealthWell Foundation Welcomes New Member to its Board of Directors

HealthWell Appoints Cathleen D. Bennett, Esquire as Director

GERMANTOWN, Md. — July 22, 2020 — The HealthWell Foundation®, an independent non-profit that provides a financial lifeline for inadequately insured Americans, is honored to announce the appointment of Cathleen D. Bennett, Esq., to its Board of Directors. Bringing over 24 years of experience in health and human services to the Foundation, Ms. Bennett currently serves as President and Chief Executive Officer of the New Jersey Hospital Association, and its affiliates, the Health Research and Education Trust of New Jersey and Healthcare Business Solutions, organizations primarily known for their thought leadership, policy development, and advocacy in Washington, DC and Trenton, NJ.

 Ms. Bennett commented, “It is with great excitement and enthusiasm that I accept the appointment of Director on HealthWell Foundation’s Board. I applaud HealthWell’s critical mission to reduce financial barriers to care and look forward to helping to continue to support that mission through collaborative and strategic initiatives that bolster access to essential, often lifesaving, medical care.”

Prior to assuming her position with the New Jersey Hospital Association, Ms. Bennett served as the Commissioner of Health for the State of New Jersey. She received her Juris Doctorate at The Dickinson School of Law at Pennsylvania State University and a master’s in public administration from the University of Pennsylvania. She serves on multiple boards, including the New Jersey Health Executive Leadership Academy, Q3 Health Innovation Partners, the Healthcare Employees Federal Credit Union, and the New Jersey Alliance for Clinical and Translational Sciences.
