Lou and Kathy's Story

We are so very grateful for the grant from HealthWell which pays the deductible for my husband’s medication. When we heard the yearly cost of the drug – $250,000, we were stunned! Then when we found out our portion would be $2,200 each month, we knew that this would completely strain the budget of 2 retired teachers.

Then came the exciting news that HealthWell would pay the deductible. This was a miracle, and we are so thankful every day for this grant. It is one of the few bright spots in our 10 month journey with Transthyretin Amyloid Cardiomyopathy (ATTR-CM). We are profoundly grateful.
