b'Ifelt guilty asking for help knowing that my husband had a decent paying job and health insurance. I knew there were many other more deserving families (patients) that needed financial help. However, I cringed every time I went to the mailbox. Multiple medical bills were always present, always due. Somehow, we were able to keep our heads above water, but I always worried that we could lose everything and be easily bankrupt if my husband should suddenly become unemployed. Fighting breast cancer twice (having three young children and only 39 years old), worrying about my husbands mental health through all of this and the possibility of him losing his job, I didnt need to worry about where the money was going to come from next. God blessed us and relieved some of that burden when we received some financial assistance with our medical bills and doctors appointment copays from the HealthWell Foundation. Even though I am currently four years out since my first cancer diagnosis, I continue to support this wonderful organization and spread their information to other victims of cancer. When your world seems to be crashing in around you, HealthWell is that ray of light! Thank you for your help when I needed it and all that you continue to do for others.
