Arthur: Psoriasis
Nancy: Asthma and Allergies
Kevin: Colon Cancer
Mary: Rheumatoid Arthritis
Virginia: I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer in September 2007
Mary: There I was Medicare blessed and needing very expensive medication.
Lorenzo: One diagnosis away from crisis and one pay check away from disaster.
Virginia: I was working at a radio station and the radio station decided to close its doors.
Nancy: My insurance ended from my work.
Kevin: They wouldn’t be able to cover everything, I have a cap and after that cap, that’s it.
Lorenzo: Increasingly the co-payments for my medications started just becoming outrageous and unfortunately I was not able to afford them.
Kevin: It was going to cost five thousand dollars.
Virginia: It was seven thousand nine hundred dollars every single time I have to get a shot
Mary: Twenty thousand dollars.
Kevin: And I had twelve treatments, it’s impossible for me to do that.
Lorenzo: I Mean I need these medications to live.
Mary: What good does it do to have all these programs that help diagnose a disease, when once you’ve been told you have it, you don’t have the money to get the treatment?
Kevin: There are a lot of people in my position.
Virginia: I cannot delay this, it is a matter of life or death
Mary: What do you do for money if all your money is being spent on prescriptions
Arthur: I was coming to a point where something had to give.
Virginia: And that’s when the HealthWell Foundation came into the right place at the right time
Mary: I’d been approved! For a grant, x number of dollars for the year
Arthur: They had approved my co-payments for the rest of the year, to the tune of four thousand dollars..
Lorenzo: To have HealthWell come along, and all of the sudden this help is available. You go, wow, really? I’m going to be OK!
Virginia: Like something really heavy lifted from my back.. I cannot put it into words.
Arthur: Overjoyed!
Kevin: Soul soothing, it was uplifting, it was a spiritual experience.
Mary: This is wonderful
Lorenzo: Now I am able to really just continue to focus on living and being well.
Virginia: So thanks to their intervention, I could finish my treatment.
Mary: I’ve been able to get every prescription, I’ve been able to afford it
Kevin: Someone had my support, someone had my back and that was HealthWell.
Nancy: So I didn’t have to worry about not being able to take that medicine
Kevin: Thank you HealthWell, thank you very much. I’m here again and I’m, I’m alive. I know I would be in a very precarious position, if not in the grave…that’s where I would be.
Mary: I am the face of HealthWell.
Lorenzo: I am the face of HealthWell.
Virginia: I am the face of HealthWell Foundation.
Kevin: I am the face of HealthWell.
